This post is special...

A few years ago I took a trip with my youngest to visit my very good friend in Germany (who I am so excited to LIVE next to again soon). On my flight home I was sitting in the airport waiting for my flight amidst hundreds of Japanese business men in suits when all of a sudden I saw the cutest pregnant lady sitting reading a book...I took note and even wondered if she was American. Well when I got on the plane she was sitting in the seat behind me, so I said hello. We then got talking and found out we were both headed to Okinawa. She somehow asked what I did and I told her I was a photographer...a few minutes later she tapped me and said you are not Serena are you? And well we all know the answer to that one. I had to laugh that here I was flying in Germany and was called out...I was so humbled. To make a long story short we had all the same connections and we hit it off big time. I instantly adored her and she has since become one of my closest friends. We giggle anytime we think how we met...to get even more personal...when I was leaving Germany I was so very sad to be leaving my close, close friend, that I prayed please let me find a friend to make this easier. And my goodness did he ever deliver. I didnt even have to make that plane ride home ALONE!  Since meeting, she has been my go-to friend. We can talk about anything and have a blast. As we part our seperate ways from this island.. I know in my heart this is not good-bye - just hold on a second. There will be many more years of giggles and talk.

So needless to say I jumped at the opportunity to photograph their family before they leave...

Oh my...

these are two of my favorite girls... The little one she is amazing and she isnt even THREE yet! We always have fun together. This was our last session here on Okinawa...but Mom and I already have plans for the future. Lets just say it includes DAD and DISNEY!

MINI SESSION WEATHER WATCH!

Tomorrow is our big day full of mini sessions...and well the weather looks - hmm - not so beautiful! But it has been wrong before. Dont forget to check HERE tomorrow before coming out to your session. I will be up bright and early to make a judgement call...and will post right here. Also remember our make-up date is SUNDAY as in THIS SUNDAY same TIME same PLACE!

I loved...

working with this family. We had fun exploring and watching the kids play. I loved how playful Dad was and how sweet Mom was with the kids...it made my job so fun!

Thanks for all the fun...it was so wonderful to see the kids play and have fun together.

This one...

stole my heart. She was so tender and slept so sound. I had so much fun. I found for the first time a baby who doesnt like to be warm! She got it from her Daddy! We actually had to cool her off a few times! That has never happend. She is so precious that I cant wait to share her with you...so without further ado...sweetness:

So, so sweet...I love my newborns. Thanks for coming and sharing with me.

When I talked with

Mom about this shoot and she shared that she had 5 kids, with the oldest being 8, I was excited. I love big families. As I started working with this family I began to realize that would mean that I would have had four more kidos since my 'baby' was born. Then I started to become amazed and inspired. The interaction of these siblings is priceless and I love the way Mom held it all together.

So much fun...thanks you guys so much for coming out. And Mom thanks for the inspiration - WOW!
