for working on year number seven and have never had the chance to see what is in store for you below...to my dear friend in Germany...this is for you. I will explain more...soon! Hang in there, it will ruin the story if I tell too much now!
This family was so fun. I love the boy dynamics, as I can so relate! And boy (no pun intended), Mom and Dad better hold onto these boys tight as they are cute to boot! I think the girls are already calling!
So we were having fun and snapping away when the youngest says to his Mom...
Hey Mom do you see that?
See what?
That snake over there?
No....
Mom look it is on the rocks....
That is when we all said --- WHOAAAAA.
And here is why...
Can you see it? This is close up...I personally have NO IDEA how he saw this as we were (luckily) probably 100 feet away!
So taking one for the team, I decided I should get a close up... Stac, my friend in Germany who has a wonderful 'love' for snakes, he he ,dont read the next part. I went and got about 5 - 6 feet away to get this shot...
Didnt realize while I was there how intently he was watching me!!! I was just watching for movement! Kat, my awesome assistant got a shot of me, taking a close-up of the snake to PROVE my coolness to my boys...and I am so sad to say it got deleted. I am so bummed as that would have surely upped the cool factor a least a couple of notches for me!
So we continued on with our shoot...I did ask the now famous snake spotter to keep an eye on the snake...because if he decided he wanted a dip in the ocean, I would have nicely RAN out of his way and maybe would have even let out a shreek or two just to let others know to nicely move!
It is too bad we didnt save any time for fun!
Thanks guys for such a great morning! I could keep sharing and sharing as you guys were so fun to photograph! Oh and thank you for showing me my first SNAKE in Okinawa! It wouldnt have been right for me to leave without seeing at least ONE :)
By the way, anyone out there know what kind of snake this is?
Hugs - SN

yeah, it's a REALLY REALLY REALLY huge snake (ha ha ha). No idea, but maybe that's a good thing! Glad you saw it and not me. Great pictures as always!

Oh I can tell you what kind of snake it is....A BAD ONE! A NASTY ONE! A GROSS SCARY, STAY OUT OF THE WAY ONE!
ARE YOU NUTS!!?!?!!!
That is one thing that I do not miss! And please, this is your first one?! I think I saw at least 20! And you went up to it?! I would have already been in the car. Half way back home, trying to drive with my feet up, which is hard to do, cause I've done it before...

LOL! You two are so funny!
Now driving with your feet up - you are my only friend that drives with one leg curled up under your leg that is pushing the pedal! So I do believe you could actually pull off footless driving somehow! And well my boys, and many others will atest to the fact that I am indeed NUTS! After I saw how intently he was looking at me...I may have to agree!
But really we wanted to know if this was a habu or some other crazy poisonous snake!Anyone know?

Yeah, that was a habu. Check out the Wikipedia article on habus... and do a google image search... and then pass out from the knowledge that you got up close to one and photographed it.

Whoa... oh nice Cherlyn!
That habu, guessing by its size, had enough venum to, well lets not go there or I may very well pass out!
In Mr Habu's defense it was very docile... oh wait maybe that was in my defense to explain my craziness for getting so close!
Well, I guess I can say - how many people are crazy enough or lucky enough to get to be so close to one of the world's most deadly snakes.
Yeah, thats it!
